Description

The NLSACPC in St. John's is a not-for-profit community agency providing non-judgmental peer support and essential services to survivors of sexual violence. The NLSACPC Crisis Support and Information Line is confidential and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is staffed by male and female volunteers who are trained in crisis intervention and supporting survivors of sexual violence. People can also access the Warn Other Workers (WOW Line) by dialing the toll free number. The WOW Line is an anonymous reporting program for people involved in the sex industry. People can call the line and report violent clients; the information is collected and distributed to workers. The NLSACPC also offers in-person peer support, support groups, referral services, and educational workshops. Sexual Violence Awareness Week is the third week in September in Newfoundland and Labrador. We plan free public events and end the week with the annual Take Back the Night March.
